I love origami so much that I have passed it onto someone else! My pet hamster Matilda loves this tiny little hat. First I took a regular sheet of origami paper and cut it into six pieces of rectangular pieces. I took one of those and made it into an origami hat. (thanks "kid craft central.com") On the hatI wrote la petit shapo, wich means "the little hat". Hamstesr loves this tiny project and definitely supports origami. After Matilda wears the hat, She can simply tear it apart and put it in her nest.I will make more kinds of hats and show you what Matilda thinks!

Groundhog Day
Yesterday was Groundhog Day. I needed help posting my video so I couldn't share this ON Groundhog Day, but since Phil saw his shadow and we have 6 more weeks of winter coming I think it's still ok. Enjoy making Origami Groundhog! Let me know what you think and please share pictures of your own when you finish! Thanks!

Finding Paper
Usually, I use square origami paper. That's what origami is,the art of folding square paper. But, some other kinds of origami require dollar bills, straw wrappers, and/or skinny rectangles. You can buy origami paper at Amazon, Staples, Hobby Lobby, & even Walmart ! Some origami papers can be expensive, ($12 for 50 pages,) so I will soon post a video that shows how to turn regular printing paper into EXACTLY square paper. Origami paper is very thin so it can be folded many times. It is also 2-sided paper, one side is usually white and the other is a color or pattern. Once you have the origami paper, you can get started folding!

Hello! Welcome to Adam's Origami!
I'm Adam and I've been practicing origami and other paper crafting for a long time now. When I was learning from books, it was hard for me to "see" in my mind how to make the folds based on the pictures and diagrams written in books. I have been helping my friends learn how to make origami and they did much better when I showed them as we created it together. I've also helped in classes taught at the library. I noticed kids learned better when they made the folds along with me. And that's where videos come in! I use a camera to videotape myself folding origami. I give directions and helpful hints while I fold. Now, everyone can learn how to do origami along with me. Check back here often I will be posting new videos with many origami, kirigami and other paper craft projects.
